It was accepted as part of their Synergy show. A very talented poet wrote a poem about my painting and they will be displayed together. There is also an opening and poetry reading happening on March 30.
I am so excited to get to work in my new studio space at 3 Square Art in Fort Collins, CO! We had our grand opening on Saturday, and it was so fun- I even sold a piece!
I am currently or will be participating in three separate shows in the NoCo area! Awaken 3 Square Art Gallery, Fort Collins, CO June 3- July 15 Opening Reception: June 3, 6-8pm Slopes, Shapes and Landscapes at the Lincoln Center, Fort Collins, CO (9 of my paintings) April 22-June 25 Closing Reception: June 24, 5-6:30pm Luminous and Bright Horizon R Gallery, Boulder, CO June 1-July 10
Opening Reception: June 23, 6-8pm I have been working a lot with water this past year, and spent a lot of time at the river. Spending time there has always been an important, healing, and calming practice I have kept up over the years.
I haven't posted to this blog in so long, so I'll just do one update for now. I have been working on a honey bee series over the past four months. I have had three of these paintings on display at R Gallery in Boulder over the last couple of months, and am currently showing two of them at the Loveland Library. I have plans for at least two more honey bee paintings.
I currently have two paintings on display at the Gilpin Arts Center in Central City!
I have also become a member of R Gallery in Boulder recently, and have several works on display in the gallery and along Broadway as a part of their summer art walk. I have been taking an online creativity course this summer, and I am loving it! One cool thing I did last week as one of my assignments, was to re design my studio space. I typically paint in the basement, not ideal for some people, but I actually like basements. I am very excited about the results, and did not realize until after completing this project, how much the appeal of my work space affects my motivation to work.
The Exploring Sunlight exhibit at R Gallery was supposed to be wrapping up today. I was also supposed to be dropping off this artwork, Super Moon, for their Night Skies show that was supposed to take place at R Gallery starting next week. Both openings have been cancelled and the Night Skies show has been postponed. Though I am sad that these opportunities I was looking so forward to are being disrupted, I am still extremely grateful that my family is safe at home, that my husband and I still have jobs, I have more time to spend with all of them, as well as more time to paint. Online school starts tomorrow, and though it's stressful trying to figure out how to effectively teach art online, I am also looking forward to the new challenges this new normal affords. |
